Huawei MediaPad tablet will now appear in the new Android platform, the 4.0 version of the OS called the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) from the first quarter of the year. The tablet slates will now come in three more colors like vintage brown, passion pink and the conventional shadow black color.
The Huawei MediaPad slate was the first 7-inch tablet when it was launched in June last year powered by the Android OS version 3.2 Honeycomb. The new color MediaPad tablets will be released with the Honeycomb OS. The 7-inch tablets with resolution 1280 x 800p of high definition LCD touch screen display. The tablet runs on a dual core processor- the Qualcomm CPU, which has an operating frequency of 1.2GHz. The tablets have a HD camera of 5 MPs with autofocus also include a secondary 1.3 MP camera. Both the cameras feature a CMOS sensor. It supports connectivity through Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi. It has a memory that can be expanded up to 32 GB.
Richard Yu, the chairperson of Huawei Devices stated that the new personalized colored look of the MediaPad tablets will be a class apart in the slate market stuffed with ‘staid’ black and white models. The hardware package is ‘a rare combination of style and performance’ with top quality display, powerful battery and a high performance dual core processor. In the first quarter of 2012, the Huawei MediaPad tablet users will receive the ICS update through the air. The new colored models of the tablet and devices to be rolled out with the Android 4.0 OS pre installed will also be launched during this time itself. However, the exact launching dates and the prices of the gadgets have yet to be disclosed.
