The Logitech Mini Boombox is a wireless speaker that can be easily carried around with ease but that will always come at a price- lower sound quality and bass. Moreover, it is not too loud if what all you need is loudness. However, it is particularly striking that if you save some more, you can have much better portable wireless speakers like the Jambox from Jawbone. At least it comes at a low price tag.
There are two 3W speakers in this small, portable speaker. It supports Bluetooth with A2DP wireless streaming. That means now you can use it as your wireless speakerphone. There is a 3.5 mm audio input port for playing audio through the Mini Boombox.
It has a rechargeable battery; also, that lasts up to 10 hours and takes about 4 hours to get charged. The Logitech Mini Boombox blinks blue when charging and red when low on battery. It has a mini USB port, which is surprising since the micro USB port has been a norm for mobile gadgets.
Pros and Cons
The Logitech Mini Boombox sports a remarkably slim profile, and at just 219g, it is easy to carry around. Moreover, at just 4.55 x 2.8 x 2.28 inches it is highly portable. The 10-hour battery backup expands the possibilities. Bluetooth streaming with A2DP is a prominent feature, and it can serve as your mobile speakerphone. Overall, it gives full value of your money.
However, some of the down features are that the sound is not adept at high volumes due to distortions. It is bigger and less portable than the Jawbone Jambox, which is a popular product in the portable Bluetooth speaker segment. The design is not terribly durable although it looks impressive. The Jambox at $199 gives a better listening experience with many added features, but the $99.99 tag of the Mini Boombox does not justify.
