Nokia is all set to reach out to the masses a second time with the launch of the 1 Series of mobile phones. For the first time, the low-end phones have a camera and internet connectivity. The 1 Series will include four phones- dual SIM Nokia 110 and its single SIM version Nokia 111 coming at $45 and dual SIM Nokia 112 and its single SIM version Nokia 113 coming at $49. The Nokia 110 and 111 will be available worldwide in the second quarter while the 112 and 113 will come only in the third quarter of the year. The 113 will only be available in Europe and Eurasia.
Features and Options
The main features of these budget phones are internet connectivity and camera. The cloud based data crunching technology enables the Nokia Browser to load web pages according to the data loads that the mobile gadgets can handle. Social networking essentials- Facebook and Twitter links are provided in the home screen.
There is software support from the Nokia Store, and the preloaded eBuddy app enables internet messaging. Nokia is also offering up to 40 free game titles from EA Games including Need for Speed, The Run, Tetris, Bejeweled, SimCity Deluxe, and Monopoly Here & Now. There is a VGA resolution camera too. Up to 32 GB SD, memory card can be used using the microSD card slot while FM radio, Bluetooth also makes the cut. The battery backup is also impressive with up to 10 hours of talk time and a standby time of about a month.
The 1 series has a 1.8 inch display screen. Two of the phones- the 110 and the 112 are dual SIM phones you can quickly switch between the two SIM cards and take advantage of the best carrier rates available. Other novel thing in these dual SIM phones is that it will remember settings and information up to five different SIMs.
